With
the holiday season here, our busy days seem to get busier, our schedules become
more hectic and our lives take on a more frantic pace. It is no wonder that we
become stressed and agitated. It's easy to forget what the holidays really mean.
So when I was asked by a friend what crystal or stone to use for the upcoming
holidays, some thought had to be given to the effects of the season on the human
psyche.
The holiday season is about gathering with your family and friends,
sharing the bounty of the harvest, celebrating the year's growth and honoring
your ancestors. |
| Moss Agate,
the gardener's talisman, connects you with the earth and represents growth,
prosperity and abundance.
This is the stone to bring forth the harvest
to ensure security, well being and the ability to gather and share your bounty.
If Moss Agate attunes us to the
earth, then Amber attunes us to our family, both past and present. Amber
represents the "Great Mother." Formed millennia ago, it contains all
the wisdom and knowledge of our ancestors. Amber is often found to contain fossilized
insects and is therefore believed to contain the very essence of life.
The
"Great Mother," like all mothers, safeguards our family, especially
our children. | | | | | | | | | The
counterpart to Amber would be Jet, which represents the masculine/God energy
of the family. | | | | | | | | |
Aquamarine, the stone of the
Sea Goddess is also the stone of past times and can be brought in to represent
and honor your ancestors.
Lastly, if you find yourself falling
victim to the stress and frantic pace of the season, keep your Blue Lace Agate
handy. This stone will bring you inner peace and calming, as it heals your frayed
nerves. | | | | | | | |
So, as you prepare for the
coming holiday, gather your stones and gather your family, past and present, and
enjoy a happy and healthy holiday. Deana

of crystals, stones and the earth.
