| A
deeper look at clutter reveals piles of paperwork, unfinished projects, clothing
that did fit at one time, unread books, unused sports equipment, unfulfilled dreams,
family history and memories of the past, both pleasant and painful. Some
of the results of clutter are: 1. Procrastination 2. Disorganization 3.
Disharmony 4. Depression 5. Illness, such as High Blood Pressure and Respiratory
problems. 6. Fear that makes you frozen and unable to move forward in life.
7. Low Self Esteem 8. Affects the way you are treated as people extend
less respect to you. Obviously, the negative influence of your husband's
clutter has affected you. Some suggestions I would offer you are to first
examine your own "stuff." This will benefit you and often the positive
results bring inspiration to others around us. When your husband becomes inspired,
he may find himself truly frozen and unable to begin. A professional organizer
can offer unemotional attachment, and loving support.

Clearing Tips: Examine
your home, room by room and write down areas that hold clutter. Do not create
lots of piles for later. Do not ask "will I need this?" When bringing
something new into the house, something old must go. Clean out garbage bins
and computer recycle bins daily. Keep items that you absolutely love and are
using now. Fix it or remove it immediately. Do not rent a storage space. Start
with a simple drawer. Move 9 items, a feng shui cure to activate the shift
of chi. Pace yourself and learn to love the incredible work you are doing. Hire
a professional if you are really stuck. There is nothing more freeing
than to begin clearing and releasing our "stuff." It demonstrates our
trust in the universe to supply what we need when we need it. It allows us to
create space for new things to come into our lives. Clearing clutter opens opportunity
for the future. Good luck. Renae Jensen
