Does your bedroom truly reflect the person you want to attract in your life? Does your bedroom reflect the type of relationship that you want to have with your significant other? If your love life needs a quick boost, use Feng Shui to produce the romantic results you desire.

Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway), is the ancient Chinese practice of placement of furniture and other aesthetic details, along with space planning designed to bring balance, harmony and well being to your environment. Its purpose is to enhance prosperity, creativity, health, romance, etc. Feng Shui charges a home with positive energy known as chi.

The word "feng" means wind and "shui" means water, these words describe both the seen and unseen energy, a space can reveal. Our homes are a reflection of what is going on inside of us on a conscious and subconscious level. When life just happens and we get caught up in the rat race, we tend to only look at the tip of the iceberg and forget about what lies beneath the surface. This is where a Feng Shui Practitioner comes in, who is trained to examine your space and point out any imbalances that may be influencing you as the occupant. Our goal is to create easy adjustments that will assist you in achieving your goal.

Relationships need the proper environment to grow and flourish. They need the balance of the five elements, which are water, wood, fire, earth and metal; too much or too little can wither a romance. When we use the five elements in a space we always revert back to nature in order to bring balance and harmony into a space. Here is a breakdown of how each element can influence you:

Water in nature is our lake and stream, which is meandering and effortless. When water is balanced there is a constant effortless flow and when it is out of balance you could be frozen or stuck or relentless and unfocused. Wood in nature is our big flexible trees, which is reliable strength. When wood is balanced you are thoughtfully decisive and when it is out of balance there is an indecisiveness or stubbornness or very opinionated. Fire in nature is our sunny day with a gentle breeze, which is illuminating. When fire is balanced you are clear and inspiring and when it is out of balance you could be aggressive or overly excited. Earth in nature is our mountains or rocks, which would be productive and guiding. When earth is balanced there is a reliability and collaborative and when it is out of balance you could be insincere and selfish or self-sacrifice. Metal in nature is a hardened beauty and is precise and controlled. When metal is balanced you are purposeful and formed and when it is out of balance you could be withdrawn or righteous and outspoken.

By balancing the five elements you will bring harmony into your space. Here are some Feng Shui tips to enhance your romantic space:

1. The first thing you must do is remove clutter out of your bedroom. You can do this by getting rid of three things a day for the next nine days or one thing for the next 27 days. For example remove all trash, dirty ashtrays, dead plants, clothing that no longer fits and keep the area under the bed free of any stuff. Dust and remove cobwebs on any fans, walls, light fixtures and ceilings.
By doing the above, this will assist in balancing out the earth element.

2. Get rid of any old love letters or pictures you may be holding onto. This is a subconscious attachment to that person, which does not allow for any new relationships. Another thing for you to consider is to make room in the closets and drawers in order to create an opening for your partner to show up. By opening up the space you start to create a flow, which represents water.

3. Enhance your space with romance colors, such as shades of pinks, reds and whites. Guys, this does not mean your bedroom has to be feminine. You can use maroon, grayish tones of pinks and whites to achieve the same results. These colors bring in the fire element. The key is not to use any one color so much that it over powers the others. Other good colors include browns, beiges, lavender, yellow and deeper shades. These colors will bring in the earth element. Remember when choosing a paint color pick one that truly resonates with you, there are so many different shades and hues to choose from. You can also accomplish this by changing your bedding if you do not want to paint. You can easily do this by purchasing new sheets, blankets or a bedspread. For you singles out there use peach, which is the color for peach blossom luck and for those married folks use red to increase the passion.

4. Next your bed should be placed in the command position of the room. The door should be easily seen from the bed. The head of the bed should be against a wall to give you support from the back. Keep in mind when adjusting your bed that there should be equal space on both sides of the bed, to create equality in the relationship. Place nightstands with lamps on either side of the bed, which is a pair and they do not necessarily have to be the same.

5. Use items in pairs to encourage love and signify you with your partner. By placing one rose quartz on each night stand this assists in symbolizing unconditional love and creates harmony and balance. You can also use positive artwork, such as Flower Art by Georgia O'Keefe or respectful pictures of couples, such as "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt. If you don't happen to have any wall space you can also accomplish this by utilizing tastefully done romantic couple sculptures like "Love of My Life" by Nyoman Karsa or "Cherish the Love" by Alexsander Danel. When there are romantic items around you it assists in creating a romantic space and therefore you feel romantic.

6. Another excellent way to attract romance into your life is to keep fresh flowers in the room. This is a great way to add the wood element into the bedroom. Be mindful of the fact that once they start to show signs of wilting, toss them out. A good alternative to fresh flowers is silk flowers these need to be kept dust free. Limit the amount of dried flowers in the bedroom because the longer they are kept the more their life force has been depleted and this decreases the energy in the room.

7. Remember the bedroom is for sleeping, intimacy and romance. There should be no distractions such as workout equipment, a television, things that would remind you of work, etc. Pictures of you as a child, your children or other relatives should be removed from the bedroom. By removing these items and keeping the bedroom neat and clean assists to bring in the metal element. This is your sacred space, which should be reserved for couples and should only display pictures of the two of you. Dim lights will give the room a warm inviting feeling. Minimize any harsh lighting in the bedroom. You can accomplish this by using different colored light bulbs in either a soft pink, soft red or soft white.

Remember to LOVE everything in your space and be mindful of the items you bring into it as well. Your goal should be to maintain the feeling of LOVE when you walk into your sacred space.

Whether you are in a relationship or not these tips will give it the boost it deserves and your romance the fulfillment it requires.

When you alter your space, you will alter your life! Let your bedroom be the reflection of what your true hearts desire would be.
