Stone Power presents:
ROMANCING THE STONE
By Deana Schimmenti

Winter is finally here, and so is Valentine's Day. Whether you cozy up in front of the fire with your significant other
or dream of that special someone, we have a crystal for you .

The most common crystal used to attract and represent love and romance is Rose Quartz. This beautiful crystal ranges in color from pale pink to deep rose. When placed over the heart chakra (center of the chest) it will enhance your feelings of unconditional love, friendship, forgiveness, compassion, and understanding.

Chrysocolla, a beautiful bluish-green stone, is found in many places around the world. In the United States it is primarily mined in Arizona. This stone was traditionally used in spells to attract love. Chrysocolla would be placed in a cup that was half filled with rose water. The cup would then be placed on an altar in front of a candle. One would then gaze into the stone while visualizing love coming into their life. Chrysocolla has a more practical use, however. Its soothing vibrations will ease unreasonable fears and is therefore great to have with you to dispel stage fright, or when speaking in public.

. Amethyst is not usually thought of as a "love stone", but centuries ago that is just what it was used for. Men wore Amethysts in hopes of attracting a virtuous woman. A woman would present the man she loved with an Amethyst as a symbol of her love and fidelity and to secure a commitment from him.

For the woman who wants to empower her femininity and awaken the hidden Goddess within, Pink Tourmaline is the crystal for you. This stone supports the reproductive organs and stimulates the libido.

If Pink Tourmaline breathes life into the Sex Goddess, then Green Tourmaline would have to be the stone to energize the Sex God. This stone tones the male reproductive system, lending him strength, courage, vigor and vitality. This is a wonderful stone for athletes, as it increases his endurance. Diamonds might be forever, but Pink and Green Tourmaline are for love.

Before you dim the lights, pour the wine, and throw another log on the fire, sprinkle some love in the air with a smattering of crystals on the mantel and have a happy and romantic Valentine's Day.
